Fuel Surcharge Matrix (Standard)

Mobile One Courier uses an index-based surcharge that is adjusted monthly. Changes to the surcharge will be effective the last Friday of each month. The surcharge will be based on the National U.S. Average for Gasoline-All Grades for the Central Atlantic Region as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) for the month. Fuel Surcharge percentages and thresholds are subject to change without prior notice. If the Fuel Surcharge falls below or above the published range, or there are changes to the thresholds, the above table will be updated. Regardless of EIA reported average fuel prices or the table above, the actual fuel surcharge percentages posted above will apply for the periods specified.

Adverse Weather Conditions

The adverse weather status of the Mobile One Courier is designated by three condition levels: CONDITION LEVEL I: This is “normal” weather conditions up to moderate snow accumulations, power outages, etc. Couriers can still navigate local areas safely. Business offices are open. Couriers are encouraged to exercise caution while traveling. Unless otherwise stated, the Mobile One Courier always functions at a Condition Level I for adverse weather. CONDITION LEVEL II: This is more severe weather — heavy snow or ice, heavy accumulations; public transportation limited. Sidewalks are in poor condition. Available parking is limited. Schools are canceled, some businesses start to close, but major medical entities are open. Emergency personnel must report to work, while other personnel are strongly urged to consider the weather conditions in their residential area, as well as law enforcement reports of road conditions, before making a decision whether to come to work. CONDITION LEVEL III: This is extremely bad weather — unusually large accumulations of snow, ice, sleet, etc. Law enforcement is advising no one to travel except in an emergency. Roads are impassable. Public transportation is canceled. Parking conditions and sidewalks are unnavigable. Emergency personnel must report for work. Personnel who have not been designated “emergency” must not attempt to come to their worksites. Other conditions hazardous to life or safety that might also warrant the closing of the Mobile One Courier include, but are not limited to, hurricanes, ice storms, terrorist acts, or contamination by hazardous agents. During weather conditions that do not warrant closing of the Mobile One Courier, all staff is responsible for their regularly assigned duties. It is recognized that in some individual cases travel may be hazardous even though closing is not warranted. In those cases, everyone is advised to take all reasonable precautions in coming to campus give their personal circumstances. The adverse weather plan is always in effect.
